Creativity isn’t magic—it’s a process you can trigger intentionally. Whether you’re solving a tough problem, brainstorming ideas, or fighting creative block, these 10 proven triggers will help you unlock fresh thinking.

Try one today and see what happens.

1. Necessity: The Mother of Invention

“I have no time/money/resources—now what?”
Constraints force you to think differently.

Pro Tip: Give yourself an artificial limitation (e.g., “How would I do this with half the budget?” or “Solve this in 10 minutes”).

Example: Twitter’s 140-character limit sparked creative brevity.

2. Curiosity: Follow Your “What If?”

Great ideas start with questions, not answers.

Pro Tip: Spend 10 minutes researching something totally unrelated to your work. Cross-pollination sparks innovation.

Try This: “What if my [project] worked like [unrelated industry]?”

3. Opportunity Identification: Listen for Gaps

Problems really are just unmet needs in disguise.

Pro Tip: Pay attention to complaints—yours and others’. They’re goldmines for creative solutions.

Example: Airbnb emerged when its founders noticed a lack of affordable lodging during a conference.

4. Embrace Ambiguity: Get Comfortable with “I Don’t Know”

Waiting for perfect clarity kills creativity.

Pro Tip: Take one small action before you feel ready. Momentum beats overthinking.

Mantra: “Done is better than perfect.”

5. Collaboration: Borrow Someone Else’s Brain

New perspectives = new possibilities.

Pro Tip: Ask someone outside your field, “How would you approach this?”

Example: A chef’s knife design inspired a surgeon’s scalpel innovation.

6. Purposeful Daydreaming: Let Your Mind Wander

Your best ideas come when you’re not forcing it.

Pro Tip: Schedule a 15-minute “thinking walk” (no phone, no distractions, no agenda).

Science Says: Mind-wandering activates the brain’s creative default network.

7. Feedback & Iteration: Fail Faster

Early feedback turns good ideas into great ones.

Pro Tip: Share rough drafts. Say: “This is unfinished—what’s missing?”

Key Shift: Don’t ask, “Do you like it?” Ask, “What would make this stronger?”

8. Playfulness: Creativity Loves Fun

If you’re not enjoying the process, you’re overthinking it.

Pro Tip: Use brainstorming games:

“How would a 5-year-old solve this?”

“What’s the weirdest possible solution?”

9. Fear & Pressure: Use Stress as Fuel

Fear can stifle creativity, but a little urgency sharpens focus.

Pro Tip: Set a crazy-short deadline (“Solve this in 20 minutes”). Watch how instincts kick in.

Remember: Fear of failure? Reframe it as “What’s the cost of not trying?”

10. Change Your Environment: New Space, New Ideas

Your brain associates places with behaviors.

Pro Tip: Work from a café, park, or even a different room.

Bonus: Use scent (peppermint boosts alertness) or background noise (coffee shop sounds enhance creativity).

Your Turn:

Which of these triggers resonates most with you?

Comment below with your go-to (or tag someone who needs this!).

Try just one today—then notice what shifts.

Networking is often framed as a transactional activity—collecting business cards, making LinkedIn connections, and securing future opportunities. While these are valuable outcomes, there’s a deeper, often ignored benefit of networking: the unexpected, brilliant ideas that emerge from casual conversations.

As a creative person, I’ve found that some of my most original ideas didn’t come from structured brainstorming sessions, but from offhand remarks, often made during networking events. A passing comment from someone in a completely different industry, an observation from someone of a different generation, or even a cultural perspective I hadn’t considered—these interactions have led to ideas I never would have reached alone.

The Hidden Goldmine in Everyday Conversations

When we approach networking with the sole intent of ‘making connections,’ we risk missing the real magic: listening. People share insights, frustrations, and observations that can spark entirely new ways of thinking. A software developer might mention a workflow inefficiency that inspires a new productivity tool. A retired teacher might share an anecdote that reshapes how you approach customer education. A designer from another country might describe a trend that hasn’t hit your market yet.

These moments don’t happen when we’re focused on pitching ourselves—they happen when we’re fully engaged in the conversation.

The Power of Diverse Perspectives

One of the most refreshing aspects of group networking is the mix of backgrounds, ages, nationalities, professions, and outlooks. Unlike homogenous groups where ideas often echo one another, diverse networks introduce friction—in the best possible way. Different thinking styles challenge assumptions, expose blind spots, and open doors to innovation.

A finance expert might approach a problem analytically, while an artist sees it intuitively.

A young entrepreneur may prioritise speed, while a seasoned executive considers long-term resilience.

Someone from a different culture might highlight a solution that’s standard in their country but unheard of in yours.

This variety is priceless. The more varied your network, the richer your pool of inspiration.

How to Network for Ideas, Not Just Contacts

If you want to tap into this overlooked benefit of networking, shift your approach:

Listen More Than Talk – Instead of focusing on what you can get, pay attention to what others are saying. What problems do they mention? What unique perspectives do they have?

Engage with People Outside Your Field – Some of the best ideas come from cross-pollination between industries.

Follow Up with Curiosity – If someone says something intriguing, dig deeper. A simple, ‘That’s fascinating—tell me more about how that works,’ can lead to unexpected insights.

Keep an Idea Journal – Note interesting thoughts or observations from conversations. Either on paper or your phone, while they’re still fresh. Revisit them later—they might be the seed of your next big idea.

Final Thought

Networking isn’t just about who you know—it’s about what you learn from them. The next time you’re at an event, resist the urge to ‘work the room‘ for contacts. Instead, immerse yourself in conversations. You might walk away with more than a new connection—you might walk away with a brilliant idea.

Have you ever had a casual remark at a networking event lead to a breakthrough? I’dlove to hear about it!

For marketing technology, the last ten years have been a breathless race onward and upwards. Marketing is no longer a place for technophobes – if it ever was.

I’ve been considering the significant milestones of the decade. Each one represents a dramatic step for brands, but the scale, speed and rate of change have been logarithmic. One increment piles on another and multiplies its effect.

Let’s take a look at each milestone, in reverse order:

10. Privacy Regulations and Data Security

GDPR and CCPA Compliance: Privacy regulations, such as GDPR in Europe and CCPA in California, have transformed data management practices. Compliance is now essential, pushing brands toward transparent data collection and handling.

Cookieless Future: The shift away from third-party cookies has led to an increased focus on first-party data and alternatives for ad tracking and targeting, encouraging brands to rethink data strategies.

9. 5G and Mobile-First Marketing

Enhanced Mobile Experiences: The rollout of 5G has boosted mobile video, live streaming, and AR/VR experiences, allowing brands to deliver richer, more interactive mobile content.

Mobile-First Content Strategy: With mobile now the primary device for internet access, brands prioritise mobile-optimised content, from websites to ads and social media.

8. Blockchain and Decentralised Marketing

Data Privacy and Transparency: Blockchain technology offers solutions for data security, fraud prevention, and transparency, allowing consumers to control their data and helping brands build trust.

Tokenised Loyalty Programs: Some brands have experimented with blockchain-based loyalty programs, using tokens to reward customers securely and transparently.

7. Social Commerce

In-App Purchasing: Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok introduced in-app shopping features, allowing users to purchase products without leaving the app, blending social engagement and e-commerce.

Influencer Marketing Tech: Technology now powers sophisticated influencer marketing strategies, using analytics to measure influencer impact, campaign ROI, and audience demographics.

6. Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)

AR-Powered Experiences: AR has enhanced the customer experience, especially in retail. From trying on clothes virtually to seeing how furniture fits in a room, AR has added a new dimension to brand interaction.

VR for Immersive Marketing: VR has been used for immersive storytelling, allowing customers to engage deeply with a brand’s story, like touring a car’s interior or virtually attending live events.

5. Voice Search and Smart Assistants

Voice-Activated Search Optimisation: With the rise of smart assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, optimising for voice search has become critical. Brands now adapt SEO strategies to accommodate the conversational nature of voice searches.

Voice Commerce: Smart assistants have also paved the way for voice-driven commerce, where consumers use voice commands to make purchases or reorder products.

4. Programmatic Advertising and Real-Time Bidding (RTB)

Automated Media Buying: Programmatic advertising enables marketers to buy ad space in real time based on data-driven targeting. It’s made advertising more efficient and data-focused, with AI playing a large role in optimising bids and

3. Data Analytics and Customer Data Platforms (CDPs)

Data Centralisation: CDPs have emerged as central data hubs, unifying data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive view of each customer. This centralization enables better segmentation, targeting, and personalisation.

Predictive Analytics: Marketers use predictive analytics to forecast customer behaviour, identify high-value prospects, and optimise campaigns, increasing ROI.

2. Marketing Automation

Workflow Automation: Platforms like HubSpot, Marketo, and Pardot have streamlined email marketing, social media, and other channels. Automation allows for better segmentation, nurturing, and scheduling, making it easier to engage customers at different stages of the buying journey.

Lead Scoring and Nurturing: Automation tools now offer lead scoring capabilities, allowing sales teams to focus on high-quality leads and nurture them with automated, personalized content.

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning

AI-Powered Personalisation: AI-driven algorithms, especially in e-commerce and digital advertising, have made it possible to deliver highly personalised experiences, improving engagement and conversions.

Chatbots and Conversational AI: Brands now use AI-powered chatbots for real-time customer service, lead generation, and engagement, providing 24/7 interaction and support.

Marketing content and collateral production: Even micro businesses can now generate sophisticated materials without the need for large teams or the use of expensive sub-contractors.

The next 10?

These steps are more than individually significant, but cumulative. Take AI, the most recent martech impact: add this to say, data analytics and social commerce, and the result can be many times more powerful than the sum of the parts.

We’re on the cusp of an even more eventful decade for Marketing Technology. Fasten your seatbelt for an amazing ride.

7 Old-School Marketing Approaches That Still Pack a Punch in the Digital Age

In today’s AI-driven, digitally dominated world, it’s easy to overlook traditional marketing methods. However, these time-tested strategies can add significant impact and variety to modern campaigns. Here are seven old-school marketing approaches that still deserve a place in your marketing toolkit.

1. Direct Mail Campaigns

Despite the digital takeover, direct mail remains a powerful tool for reaching customers. A well-crafted physical piece of mail can cut through the digital clutter, offering a personal touch that emails often lack. Of course the cost can’t compare to email for bulk mailing, but here’s a great approach.

Suppose you want to target just ten key prospects. You could create ten memorable, personalised, 3-d mailing pieces. Send stand-out items that are sure to grab attention. Don’t forget the follow-up call, you’ll really have something to talk about.

Why It Works: People appreciate tangible items in a world overwhelmed by digital communication. Direct mail can also be highly targeted, ensuring your message reaches the right hands.

2. Guerilla Marketing

Guerilla marketing is all about creativity and surprise. This unconventional approach involves creating unexpected, attention-grabbing experiences in public spaces. Think of flash mobs, eye-catching street art, or unique promotional impacts that get people talking.

Why It Works: Guerilla marketing is cost-effective and generates buzz through word of mouth and social media sharing, often resulting in viral campaigns that reach far beyond the initial audience.

3. Handwritten Notes

In an era where most communication is digital, a handwritten note stands out. Whether it’s a thank-you card to a loyal customer or a personalised follow-up after a meeting, this small gesture can leave a lasting impression.

Why It Works: Handwritten notes feel personal and thoughtful, fostering strong emotional connections and enhancing customer loyalty.

4. Event Sponsorships

Sponsoring local events, trade shows, or industry conferences can significantly boost brand visibility and credibility. By associating your brand with a relevant event, you can directly engage with your target audience in a meaningful way.

The key word here is ‘relevant’. Choose the right event and you’ll have the ability to build on it throughout your other promotional activity.

Why It Works: Event sponsorships offer face-to-face interaction, allowing you to build relationships, gather feedback, and create memorable brand experiences.

5. Public Relations and Media Outreach

Despite the rise of social media, traditional PR and media outreach remains vital. A well-placed press release, an interview in a relevant publication, or a feature on a local broadcast channel can lend authority and reach to your brand that digital ads can’t always achieve.

Why It Works: Earned media carries a level of trust and credibility that paid media often lacks, helping to establish your brand as a leader in your industry.

6. Referral Programs

Referral marketing taps into the power of word-of-mouth, one of the oldest and most effective marketing strategies. By incentivising your existing customers to refer friends, family, or colleagues, you can organically grow your customer base.

Why It Works: People trust recommendations from their network, making referrals a highly effective way to acquire new customers who are already predisposed to trust your brand.

7. Sampling and Free Trials

Offering product samples or free trials is a classic marketing tactic that can still yield impressive results. Letting potential customers experience your product or service firsthand can convert interest into sales.

If you’re in a service industry that depends upon quality of customer experience, until people try you they won’t know how good you are.

Link this with number 6, above.

Why It Works: Sampling and trials reduce the risk for the customer, allowing them to make informed purchasing decisions based on direct experience.

Conclusion

While AI and digital marketing tools are essential in today’s landscape, incorporating these old-school techniques can add depth and variety to your strategy. They remind us that sometimes, the most impactful marketing approaches are the ones that create genuine, human connections. By blending the old with the new, you can create a well-rounded marketing strategy that resonates with a broader audience.

Brand leadership is about a business’s passion. There is an intangible quality shared by true brand leaders in fields as varied as manufacturing, finance, food and drink, or fashion – that quality is confidence. It’s often manifested in appearing not to have to try too hard. You can be certain that those brands do try extremely hard – that’s how they came to be brand leaders – but they convey a laid-back sense of presence.

Confidence is a dimension of brand leadership

This confidence is a feature of their brand communication. It can take many forms, but one expression that can be observed is often, logo size is in inverse proportion to confidence.

Consider some leading brands, though proud of their corporate identity, their logos and corporate signatures are often extremely restrained in size and application.

This is very evident in the automotive industry. Consider the simplicity of the Mercedes logo – a clean three-pointed star in a circle. It oozes confidence.

Skoda exemplifies an evolution in confidence. The post-war Czech manufactured cars had a very poor reputation for build and reliability. By the 1970 – 1980s they were the butt of many unkind jokes. Yet at the same time they sported large, uncompromising badges. In 2000, Skoda was acquired by Volkswagen. Quality improved significantly, followed by sales and then by brand confidence.

In 2011, the logo was redesigned, simplified, and a smaller, more discrete badge applied. Skoda had the confidence to play with the big boys again.

‘Bigger, Rickenbacker’

Some of you may be old enough to remember the classic Wrangler TV ads, with the unfortunate employee, Rickenbacker. While he was putting up signs with the brand logo, the voice of ‘Mr Wrangler’, off screen, was shouting, ‘Bigger, Rickenbacker’.

This was entertaining and an ironic tongue-in-cheek reference to the brand’s already significant positioning. It was also perhaps an in-joke by the creatives who produced the ad. Designers and art directors working on leading brands often have to battle with the insecurity of clients who still feel the need to make the logos shout when the brands should be expressing confidence.

Confident enough to lose the name?

Across market sectors brands express their self-confidence with simple, often very small brand signatures. As success grows, so confidence grows and logos and signatures become increasingly simplified and minimised.

Track back across some recent manifestations of identities such as Microsoft, McDonalds, Tesco, Adidas, Google and more. Self-confidence leads to unadorned brand identities and more considered and self-effacing application.

Self confidence is often expressed by what you don’t say, and perhaps the pinnacle of this state is when overtly using the brand name in the signature becomes redundant. Apple took that decision long ago – you don’t see the name in their stores, simply the monochrome symbol. Nike, McDonalds, Shell, Starbucks and others have dialled back use of their brand name in favour of bare logos. Mastercard was one of the most recent to drop the text from their simple two coloured discs.

Brand confidence and how to express it.

If you own or are responsible for a growing brand what can you learn from brand-confident leaders? Can taking a confident stance in your communications help build your own stature, externally and internally?

First and biggest rule – you must be authentic and relevant. No amount of clever communications can work magic on a poor product or service. The opposite is true. Customers and users are quick to spot fakes and react aggressively to being misled. Confidence is a property of a brand that deserves it. It’s not a starting point, but a consequence.

The issue is whether the brand owners or managers have the necessary level of confidence. If you have the confidence to be a brand leader (even in a narrow niche) – express it, and b like a brand leader.

Most startups and small businesses over-work their brand identity to begin with. However, having outgrown the infant brand image, it’s almost never a good idea to completely change an identity without a very sound reason. Even if it’s only been in existence a short while, it has recognition value and currency. Take your lead from some of the brand-leaders we have already discussed. It’s about evolution, not revolution. Look at how the Apple logo evolved from an apple silhouette with garish multicolor bands, to the same shape, but in cool, confident monochrome.

Look at your direct competitors for brand leadership in your sector. Take into account relevancy and distinctiveness of the offer. Compare their communications materials at key customer touch points. Who emotionally conveys confident ownership of the brand leadership position in the target consumers’ mind and how?

If you are confident you can occupy that position, start building the right attitudes internally and in your communications. Create a brand strategy with confidence at its core.

Why sales promotion is tactical gold

Sales promotion is one of the most impactful tactics for generating increased sales and revenue. But it’s not just one tactic, it’s a whole catalogue of approaches.

I use the word ‘tactics’ advisedly, because one of the great benefits of sales promotions is that they can be used to address specific and focussed issues. Unlike other marketing tools, promotions can be time-sensitive and short term. And as such they are targetable and measurable.

Here are a few tasks that sales promotions are ideal for, and most can be used on or off-line, or in combination.

Move excess stock

Take advantage of sudden weather changes

Increase footfall seasonally

Promote sampling of new products or services

Target specific geographic opportunities

Stimulate advocacy

Reward loyalty

Let’s consider the major types of promotions that you could use, tomorrow.

Discounts

Perhaps the simplest promotion – money off. But there are lots of subtle ways to use it. Discounts can be very effective when used with strict time limitations – accelerate sales when you need them. Good for liquidating stock or services when you have a new offer coming along.

Premiums

Premiums are special offers, prizes or gifts a consumer receives when buying a product or service. They have the advantage of not discounting your standard pricing. Infinitely flexible – they can require single or multiple purchases, and can be stacked or repeated to build loyalty. The offers can be your own products or services or bought in from others. BOGOF’s are examples of simple premiums.

On-pack or in-pack offers

For product sellers. Classic in-store retail offers, they can stimulate purchase at the point of sale. Ideal for making products stand out from competitors on the shelf. Equally effective for ecommerce selling – with the advantage that you don’t need to produce special packs. Just create images for your site.

You can limit the offers to specific outlets or platforms. Turn your offers into trade promotions at the same time by offering only to selected retailers.

Giveaways

These have been around since marketing was invented – and earlier. The range of applications is limitless. They are equally effective for service or product based businesses. Promotional giveaways are ideal for brand building and prompting recall; they can be anything from the ubiquitous branded pen, to clothing, umbrellas, bags, bottles – use your imagination!

On-line giveaways are great tools for building mailing lists and promoting sampling. Add some gamification and fun.

Free samples

A form of giveaway, but you are offering some of your product or service for free. If you have some great merchandise, or provide a unique service – why not let a potential buyer try it? You can give away product in-store or on the street, or let prospects try your service for a limited time, or with perhaps restricted features.

On-line time-limited offers are a great way to let potential buyers find out how good your product is – but also allows you to engage and start a dialogue. If they’re not persuaded to buy at the end of the time, you can offer special deals or discounts to close the sale.

Coupons

Coupons can be redeemed, usually against product in store, but also for travel, accommodation, meals and most kinds of service. They can range from any amount up to 100% (free). There are many means of getting coupons into customers’ hands. Door drops, press ads, or in-store, are traditional means, but digital coupons and email vouchers allow online promotions to link to bricks and mortar outlets. A great benefit of coupons is that that can be identified with the delivery channel, allowing testing and measuring of promotional tactics.

Free draws

Free draws and sweepstakes bring excitement. Linked with attractive promotion, perhaps in broadcast media or online, they can be really magnetic. Not only for attracting new customers, but free draws are effective for building loyalty with current customers – perhaps introducing new products or services.

A word of warning – note the word ‘FREE’. In the UK, you can’t ask for payment to enter a draw – that’s an illegal lottery if you don’t have a licence. If in doubt, take advice.

Competitions

As well as being fun, you can create competitions that also build customers’ product knowledge. What makes competitions distinct from draws, is that they must rely to a significant extent on skill and judgement. But with that in place, you can make purchase necessary for entry.

Prizes can be your own goods or services, which means they can have a perceived value far higher than the cost to you. You can offer bought-in goods or prizes. This means the choice to have many lower value prizes, with a high chance of winning, or one stunning high-value prize. The total prize fund to you can be the same.

Loyalty rewards

If you want customers to keep coming back – reward them. Examples vary from store cards to coffee-shop stamp cards. Apparently random gifts or offers can stimulate loyalty from customers – everyone is delighted to receive an unexpected bonus. The mechanics can be very simple or intricately structured systems to build upon layers of loyalty.

Cross product promotions

These can often be deal-clinchers where, if you buy one product or service you have the opportunity to get a related one, free or at a discount. Buy a bicycle and get a 50% discount on insurance – your bike store seals a deal, and the insurance company gets a new customer. Sign up for a web-design course and get free hosting for a year. The possibilities are endless.

To solve tactical marketing problems, all you need is a promotions toolbox, and a little imagination.

Need to clear excess inventory?

Consider: discounts, premiums, coupons, competitions, cross promotions

Want to grow your mailing list?

Consider: giveaways, free draws, competitions

Consider: coupons, instore free samples or free draws

Get ready for the future with post-lockdown marketing

It’s been a tough time for many businesses – and even those least affected will be finding the market environment has changed. Sometimes these changes are very evident, sometimes subtle and insidious.

Aside from the obvious problems, new opportunities may present themselves, and certainly, new ways of working. So, here are our 7 post-lockdown marketing thoughts – things to bear in mind as we get our businesses rolling again.

1. Be visible

It’s been tricky maintaining a profile with all the restrictions. And it’s too easy to forget the importance of awareness. So now is the time to make sure that you are on clients’ radar.

Get your social media working. Email all your subscribers. It may be time to consider making a splash – how about a post-lockdown offer?

2. Review your client base

How has their business changed – and how is that likely to impact upon you?

Do you need to look again at your target markets – are there opportunities to provide new services or help customers in getting back on their feet?

Will you need to find new business, and if so, what will those targets look like? If you use personas in your marketing strategies, do you need to revise them for new climate? If necessary, write a new description of your ideal, post-lockdown client or customer.

Will you need to review your terms of business and clients’ credit status?

3. Review your offer

Is your business offer still relevant for these changed times? Look at it in terms of your client base as discussed above. Will there be opportunities to offer new and more profitable products or services? Or, perhaps it may be an opportunity to slim down your offering.

Take a good look at your competitors. What changes might they make to their offer? Will you need to act defensively or might there be new opportunities? Note what options you have.

If you wrote down your offer – your value proposition – sometime before lockdown, take a fresh look at it, and if necessary, rewrite it in light of how you now see the future.

4. Check your objective

It could well be that your marketing objective hasn’t changed. But for some of us, who may have just been in survival mode for the past few months, the overall objective may be significantly different.

Is it a time for growth, or should we work on strengthening the brand? Should we concentrate on awareness, or build loyalty and develop advocates?

You could do worse than to look again at the old SMART objective – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time based. Which of those have now changed for you, and how.?

5. Plan your marketing options

This is all about directions. Now is the ideal time to consider your possible directions – and to put all options on the table.

It’s a good idea to write down all possible options, then for each write the ‘for‘ and ‘against‘. Finally, note for each what action you decide to take. Many options you may just discard, one or two may be great directions that deserve exploring for immediate action. Others may look useful for a few months time, and some may be able to be combined for effectiveness.

6. Reflect on what you’ve learned

All experience is useful, and the past few months is no exception. You may have discovered resources you didn’t expect. Perhaps clients or suppliers your relied upon were found wanting. How did your supply chain stand up? Which staff surprised you and which disappointed?

Many businesses embraced technology to achieve new results – can these be developed further? Others questioned their old working practices and identified significant potential cost savings.

We’ve all breathed a sigh of relief as restrictions began to lift. But spare some time to note the good learnings and see how these can be applied to future practices.

Also consider how resilient your business model proved to be, and what marketing actions you can take to protect its future.

7. Set marketing budgets

Some businesses may have come through with revenues and reserves still strong, while others may now be severely constrained.

Marketing will be vital to emerge competitive and profitable in an uncertain and possibly hostile economic environment. It’s a time to pay close attention financial decisions and that means setting realistic budgets.

Those figures must start with what you need to achieve – and importantly – by when. It’s not a matter of screwing down all expenditure. It’s about calculating just what is necessary to get you where you want to be. Keep a clear measure of return on investment and monitor it carefully. Try to keep returns as closely in step with expenditure, as cashflow will be critical.

Setting budgets may seem like a chore, but in tight financial times they will help control costs – but allow you to grow.
